This song starts from the perspective of a self-reliant individual who then discovers that he truly needs the "brush of seraph's wings" to come with the live coal from the altar and touch the coal to his lips to cleanse him.

Sometimes we think that God is one big NO, but what he's trying to do is protect us from things that will hurt us and leave broken shadows of the good he intends for us. So, although we can't see him with our eyes we can reach him with our cries if we will just surrender and cry out to him for help.

"Sticks & stones may break my bones, or so I think the saying goes. But careless words wound the heart of a friend. We can't undo them." This song is a nice picking song featuring a moving melody line and slap technique that emphasizes the danger of our tongue and how our words can wound each other.

"Left standing in the rain, hope clutched like an umbrella with holes in it." Often we find ourselves like this and realizing that without the strength of the friends God has placed in our lives we're not that strong.

This song recognizes that God is in control and that no amount of our worrying can change that. He will still provide and take care of our needs even before we know what they are.

This is the 174th song that I have written during the past 14 years. As I was unable to come up with a better title, calling it "Number 174" just seemed to stick. The song deals with being content in whatever situation as sometimes when you get what you've been longing for it doesn't really turn out to be what you expected. This is a live recording at an outdoor amphitheatre in Vancouver, Washington where I was backed up by Casey Murphy on bass and Larry London on drums.

This funky, wah-guitar driven song uses images of everyday life such as a late night card game followed by a lazy, rainy day for doing laundry to tell the Gospel message. We never have to wash again, because the Blood of the Lamb has washed us white as snow!

Click for more info on this CD I Never Knew Him
This song is a favorite of those who enjoy my more Dave Matthewsesque material and relates the story of how sometimes friends pretend to not know us to the way Peter treated Christ when he was taken before Caiaphas. This scene might be familiar to you if you recently saw The Passion of the Christ. It ends by admonishing all of us not to be caught saying "I Never Knew Him."

This song speaks of how God can see our hearts and look right through our filmy disguises we try to wear; just like the fable of the King and his new invisible clothes. We need to lay down our burdens and come to him instead of pretending we have everything together.

This is the title track for my Christmas CD and features the pounding and whirling sounds of celtic drum and flute. I added the flute line after singing the vocal and playing the acoustic guitar part. I've been playing flute since I was 12 and figured I should incorporate it into some of my songs.

This was my first experiment in altering a classic Christmas carol to a more modern arrangement in my style. The added bridge really sums up what I felt the focus of the original song was—"Can you help us find the child?"
