Sometimes I find I'm like the man
Who looks into the glass
And when he goes his way the memory passes on
It's like Your words were never heard
They enter in one ear and out the next they're gone
I deceive myself, believe myself
A doer when a listener's all I am
Don't deceive yourself, just see yourself
In the light of truth and darkness scatters
How can you read the words of life
Amidst these torn and tattered
Blood-stained pages
That was His body they crucified
There on Calvary's tree
He died for you and me
How can you merely listen
Don't merely listen
Don't merely listen
Do what it says
Do what it says
Someone will say
You have faith and I have deeds
Well surely actions they speak louder than words
For don't the demons also believe in God
And with fear and trembling they do shudder
For as the body without the spirit
Lies in death, well so is faith without works
Well, can you say that you've assisted
The widows and the orphans in their plight
How can you look into His tear-stained eyes
And not do what He says?
