While still at odds, God's enemy
Yet Christ did die to set me free
From chains devised by mine own hand
Yet by the nails in His I stand
In righteousness, forgiven, free
Now is the way God looks at me
No longer sin and filthy rags
The Lamb's white wool upon my back
For by His wounds we are redeemed
Ransomed from death's cold sting are we
The debt we owed, but could not pay
Is canceled now in Jesus' name
For by His wounds we are redeemed
Perfect and sinless, blemish free
Christ's sacrifice has washed me clean
Now by His blood I am made new
A child of God in spirit and truth
Amazing grace so undeserved
Sweet melody that I've now heard
Resounds within this sinner's heart
His stripes gave me a brand new start
His death and resurrection prove
His words: "The Way, the Life, the Truth"
Eternal life in Him is yours
If in your heart you call Him, "Lord."
